Our client is looking for an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CARE for their two locations ib MITCHELL, ON.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the DOC and in consultation with Registered Nursing Staff monitor and evaluate nursing care and service delivery within the home.
Research best practices and in conjunction with the DOC develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize resident care.
Ensure resident and family needs are addressed and any concerns are handled and brought to the attention of the DOC.
Responsible to monitor compliance through audits of facility, care, assessments, resident charts, care plans, MARS, TARS, and documentation. Interpret, develop a plan that identifies concerns and corrective action plan and report to the DOC.
Under the direction of the DOC, directs and supervises nursing staff to ensure standards are met.
Assist with employee health services to all employees, which include education, health promotion, treatment of illness and injury and implementation and management of modified/return to work programs.
Act as a certified leadership member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee, promoting, developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
Assist in the budget preparation and variance reporting as required. Ensure effective and efficient use of resources. Allocate and monitor expenses based on the budget approved by the Board of Directors.
Responsible for infection control - monitoring for outbreaks in conjunction with the DOC.
This position is responsible for assisting in the daily supervision of the nursing department composed of registered nurses, registered practical nurses, health care aides, personal support workers, and nurse's aides. In absence of Director of Care, assume responsibility for nursing department
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse Diploma
Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Three (3) years of long term care experience.
Efficient computer skills for report writing, creation of forms, program updating and instruction required.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
