Manager, Project Delivery

Regina

A non-profit corporation responsible for the management of the scrap tire recycling program, SSTC is an industry lead initiative managed by a volunteer board of directors made up of representatives from industry and stakeholder groups. The program collects approximately a million tires a year that are processed and recycled by private sector processors. SSTC is a user-pay system, funded by a fee charged on the purchase of new tires. SSTC returns approximately $5.5 million to the provincial economy through payments to collectors and processors, and gives back to the community through innovative projects which make use of scrap tire products. The new turf at Mosaic Stadium, rubberized asphalt on Saskatchewan highways, as well as playground surfaces and swings in our parks are just a few examples.

As a result of the efforts of SSTC and its stakeholders, nearly 300 landfill sites have had their scrap tires removed, which resulted in the reclamation of over 35 million pounds of material - that's the equivalent of

1.7 million passenger tires! The next goal is to complete landfill clean-up entirely, and to embark on Phase Three of the SSTC program, which is to identify, remove and recycle private stockpiles of tires that have not been addressed by the municipal landfill efforts.

Leave a long-term legacy, creating and implementing a province-wide policy and plan that will see millions of tires recycled, as SSTC's new.

Developing relationships with key partners and stakeholders, the incumbent will be responsible for building the capacity of project partners via leading, engaging, and supporting them through the effective implementation of the project. In this new position, you will have significant autonomy and flexibility to deliver this major province-wide initiative.
