The OAG requires a Manager, Records Operations and Information Management, in the Knowledge Management Group. Reporting to the Principal, Knowledge Management, the incumbent will be responsible for the management of records operations (RM) and information management (IM) in the Office. This includes the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies, procedures, standards, controls, client services, and evaluation and evolution of the OAG's hard copy and electronic IM/RM systems.

Some of the key activities for the position of Manager, Records Operations and Information Management are indicated below:

* Develops and manages the implementation of approved strategic plans for IM/RM, including plans to operationalize the OAG IM Policy Suite.

* Manages the provision of IM/RM client services, support, training, and communications to OAG staff, both centrally and at the regional offices.

* Manages the development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of the IM and RM framework for electronic and hardcopy records, including policies, procedures, standards, and controls for the classification, capture, organization, storage, retrieval, circulation, tracking, disposition, and transfer of the Office's hardcopy and electronic records.

* Leads consultations with clients throughout the OAG, to understand their business needs, work flow, and information requirements. Based on consultations, translates business needs to IT specialists and verifies that systems development activities meet client needs.

* Negotiates contracts with commercial vendors to obtain goods and services, including costs, terms, and conditions.

* Manages IM/RM teams, comprised of six staff; hires and manages the work of contractors and temporary staff. Manages the IM/RM budget (approximately $35,000 – $40,000).

Must Have Skills

* Experience in the management, direction, and delivery of information management and records management services.

* Experience in using electronic document and records management tools, such as EDRMS, to deliver information and records management services.

* Experience in managing human and financial resources.

* Experience in providing advice, guidance, and assistance on information and records management policies and procedures.

* Experience in analyzing and resolving complex issues and making recommendations to senior management.
