Employment Positions: Positions are available in private Language Schools (For local & international students), Business Language Schools (Targeting corporate education), Tutorial Schools and in public Immigration Schools in programs such as LINC program in Ontario and COEFI program through MinistA re de l Immigration et des CommunautA s culturelles (MICC) in QuA bec. These are just various opportunities in Canada. There are also thousands of teaching opportunities overseas for those interested to travel. Requirements: Although some schools require at least a Bachelor degree plus a formal Teachers Training Certificate in TESOL, majority will hire applicants with couple of years of college and a TESOL certificate along with some teaching experience. If you already have your qualifications, then you shall wait no longer as now is the time to apply for summer positions. TESOL Training Available: Internationally most prominent ESL teachers training programs are known as TESOL, TESL & CELTA. TESOL & TESL both cover very similar qualifications through different associations. TESOL in Canada is recognized by TESOL Canada (www.tesolcanada.org), Ministry of Employment HRDC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (when you travel overseas) & various teachers association in Canada, USA and abroad. Education Canada provides a very well known, flexible, adequate and accredited certification program that includes Theory & Practice. Program takes about three months to complete on part time basis (2hrs per day) and two months to complete on intensive basis (4hrs per day). While theory section can be completed either through online studies or through in-class sessions, practical experience part can be completed in a pre arranged class of a community centre near you.
