Basic Requirements:

- Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12);

- Secretarial course or 2 to 3 years previous secretarial experience in a health care/medical environment;

- Working knowledge of TOH policy and procedures as well as the Privacy Act;

- Successful completion of TOH medical terminology self-directed learning program or certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution;

- Keyboarding 45 wpm.

- Intermediate Word;

- Intermediate Excel;

- Intermediate PowerPoint;

- Knowledge of Access;

- Demonstrated Dictaphone skills;

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;

- Good judgement, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills;

- Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French (level A-).
