Technical Specialist - Intel/Messaging

We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist - Intel/Messaging to join our team. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will work for one of our Fortune 500 clients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is part of the Infrastructure Operations Department. This position deals with Intel based solutions within our corporate environment and some aspects within the retail environment. The focus of this role is providing Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office Communication Server support for projects which are delivering new collaboration capabilities to the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with project teams to understand requirements and build collaboration environments based on those requirements

* Configure, deploy and maintain messaging and collaboration servers

* Monitor servers and systems performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed

* Maintain backup/restore and disaster recovery procedures

* Implement software and security upgrades as necessary

* Flexible after-hours support as required

* Evaluation and deployment of application updates, (patches, hot-fixes, service packs, etc), to the environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

*

Minimum of four years experience in support and operations of Microsoft Exchange 2003 or later, and Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 or later; preferably experience in both environments

* Strong working knowledge of Intel hardware platforms (server, desktop)

* MSCE certification or related experience

* Strong knowledge of Active Directory in a production environment

* Experience with version upgrade to a Microsoft Exchange environment

* Experience with Blackberry and BES environments

* Must have strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and WINS

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Excellent problem solving skills

* Experience in providing 2nd line support

* Work well in a team environment

* Strong understanding of information security and its role in a production environment

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a balance of priorities

* Lead and assist with projects

* Research, test, document and implement new technology

Experience with the following is mandatory:

* Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007

* Windows 2003/2008 Operating System

* Knowledge of Active Directory in a production environment

* Excellent problem solving skills

Experience with the following is an asset:

VMware

* Microsoft Clustering Services in a production environment

* SAN/NAS technology

* Task automation using a Microsoft Scripting Language or PowerShell

* Email archiving technology

* Anti-virus/Anti-spam technology

* Microsoft SQL server

* Firewall technology
